So off we set on our trip to Bath Christmas Market. Matilda found time to take a snooze in the car on the journey . We found a parking space and don’t you just love it when someone is leaving as you’re parking up and offers you their all-day parking ticket? A simple act of kindness that really started our evening in the right way.
As we headed towards the market we were greeted by twinkling lights and the smell of mulled wine and bratwurst! It would have been rude to come all that way and not have a warm glass of mulled wine and an awesome bratwurst german sausage in a roll and so made a beeline for those stalls first! Afterwards we walked around some beautiful stalls seeing hand crafted blown glass christmas tree baubles, lots of other beautiful decorations, christmas wreaths, cheeses, spices, fudges, crafts and so much more. The best thing about taking photographs is the conversations it can spark up, allowing us to meet some amazing people and opening more doors for different opportunities.
This year we found a stall with genuine hand painted Russian Matryoshka Dolls (Nesting Dolls) on it. I have been looking for one for ages for Matilda. This is the one toy that Matilda always picks up first when visiting Grandma and Grandy Chamberlain’s house. We’ve put in a good word to Santa and asked if he could possibly buy one from this lovely stall for Matilda for Christmas! You see Matilda getting quite excited seeing a whole stall filled with them in the photos!
We had a lovely evening spending time as a family and with friends at Bath Christmas Market. It’s not for everyone and can get very busy but we find it a really great way to kick off our festive season and Matilda seemed to enjoy herself also!
