Diaspora, an Irish folk band in Somerset, have been described as a long established “feel good” Irish Band, which celebrates the music and traditions of the historic Irish Diaspora and entertains with a wide and varied mix of Folk and other influences. Nearly 20 years on and still going strong, they have played across a good part of the British Isles at one time or another and toured in France and Ireland having played large and small gigs; from Twickenham at the Heineken Cup finals in 1999 to country pubs, universities Student Unions to folk clubs, arts centres and festivals from Green fest to Glastonbury! Indian Wedding Celebrations
Last month we were asked by Arun Sharma if we could cover some Indian wedding celebrations for his brother, Nitin, the Groom who lives in Bridgwater but who was getting married up in Birmingham. Specifically we covered three very different events of the Indian Wedding all at Nitin’s parents home in Bridgwater; A party on the Friday night called the Ladies Sangeet and two religious ceremonies primarily conducted in Sanskrit and Punjabi – the Sainth Ceremony on Saturday afternoon and the Sehra Bandi (Sehrabandi) Ceremony on the Sunday morning of the wedding. Ok so I know this might be classed as bad taste but I had to post this and I’m just praying that karma doesn’t come right around and bite me! I am honestly doing it as a service to show what can happen…
We’re not really sure why the bride or groom didn’t try to stop or warn the poor fella but well….they didn’t…..resulting in very badtimes.
I shall, however, turn this around and make it into a post to warn future brides & grooms about the importance of making sure their wedding photographers have back-up equipment.
